I’m writing an article in order to answer the question, "the amount of calories should I consume each day to slim down?"
This question is a very common one, as most health specialists have said that people should limit their calorie consumption as they eat a lot of food with high calorie count.
I have some problems with this strategy, mainly since I do not believe that calorie counting is necessary. Weight problems has raised despite the fact that almost everybody owns a calculator and may do math.
It’s true that calories matter, but I think this is something typical people should not worry about.
Let’s for a moment assume that the "calories in, calories out" theory holds and overlook the fact that you may be able to slim down without ever worrying about calories by simply giving up junk food.
What this theory states is that individuals are fat as on a typical day, they eat more than they burn. A few extra calories are turned into body fat daily, leading to weight problems in the long run.
If you were to lose thirty pounds with this method and aiming for a 500 calorie deficit each day, then you’d have to weigh almost every piece of food you eat and calculate the calories in it, daily for 7 months.
Additionally, let’s imagine that you can do all of these (because of strong willpower), leaving yourself hungry and depraved of energy. Do you think it will have positive effects after that?
You’re going to have to continue this, because or else you are going to gain that weight back.
Plus there are several issues with calorie counting.:
The body’s metabolism depends on a lot of factors: weight, genetics, age, sex, height and other factors.
The metabolic rate changes with time and it’ll drop during long periods of calorie restriction.
The brain regulates body fat levels, and it’ll raise your hunger and decrease your activity levels to try and withstand any changes.
Needing to weigh each and every food you eat will be a huge obligation in your life. You won’t desire to do these in front of other people, because this is just plain embarrassing, and rude as well.
This theory is simply hard. People wouldn’t desire to weigh in and count the number of calories they’ll intake on every food they eat, that’s essential if they desire to lose their weight this way.
Additionally, I believe that the entirety of the human race can not control their desires, and that includes food consumption.
I will discuss a hormone that’s crucial to your body, and I am sure that you have heard of it already. This hormone is known as Insulin.
As you might know, Insulin is used for regulating one’s blood sugar levels, preventing people from being a diabetic.
Not just does it prevent diabetes, but it also acts as a guard to your fat cells.
When levels of insulin are elevated, the body’s fat cells are told to store fat and to make sure that whatever amount of fat already in them does not get out.
With high insulin levels, even if you’re taking significantly low calorie content, you will still have difficulty removing the content from your fat cells.
This will then make alert your body, and your brain as well, that it is deprived of energy. The result: feeling hungry.
What I suggest, is selecting foods that don’t cause a big amount of insulin release.
One such example of that content is the macronutrient "carbohydrate". A drop in carbs intake reduces insulin levels.
In this way, many of the fat stored in the body are burned and the sense of hunger dissipates. This is proven by researchers and experts.
The appetite for food will then disappear, and the body will instead use the extra fat as energy for the whole body.
Keep in mind, weight-loss is not really affected by calories, but instead, the kind of foods that we eat and foods which encourage weight reduction.
Thus, the question shouldn’t be how many calories?.
The right question would be: how many carbs daily to lose weight naturally?
